Scavenger Hunt: Finding 2-D Design Inspiration From My Surroundings
This scavenger hunt took me on an adventure of taking closer observations of objects around my house. I found that my walls, and many other decorations have surface designs and textures that make them unique.
I found it very fascinating to find surfaces that made use of negative space to contribute to the design. The designs that interested me most were the more organic shapes. After looking at the shapes I was able to identify geometric shapes and steps in Rhino I would be able to take later to imitate the same shapes.
All of these visuals got the gears turning in my head quite quickly. I included some more organic than geometric forms in my thumbnails as a challenge for my process. I think if I aim for an organic shape and begin constructing with the geometric forms I will land on something very abstract and interesting as a middle ground.
